Those Who Believe in My Programme
|
Dear Colleagues,
Only a few days remain until the AIPS election on April 12. Every message of support I receive further strengthens my conviction that I am on the right path. I am sincerely grateful to everyone who believes in this candidacy and in what I stand for within AIPS.
In recent weeks, athletes have stood beside me who know from personal experience what it means to dedicate decades to a cause, to strive for the very top, and to carry the weight of an entire nation on their shoulders. Former world No. 1 tennis player Tímea Babos, Europe’s best defensive basketball player Ádám Hanga, and Olympic champion swimmer Ágnes Kovács are among the greatest names in Hungarian sport, and their words carry real weight. Each of them has recorded a short video expressing their support. There is no finer expression of solidarity among athletes, and for this I am deeply grateful.

What Words Cannot Capture

There is a short film I would like to share with you. Perhaps these two minutes come closer to the truth than anything I could put into words. It features the gymnastics floor where I spent years of my life, and the moments that are burnt into me forever. It also takes you inside the work I love: journalism, microphones, studios, and of course great sporting events. But above all, it carries my starting eleven, my eleven-point programme, built on the belief that AIPS has enormous room to grow. This film is, at its heart, a statement of purpose.
I hope you will give it a few minutes of your time.

On April 12, representatives from over 100 member countries will decide the direction AIPS takes in the years ahead. I know where I want to lead it. My years as Vice President taught me that this organisation is only as strong as the sum of its voices, from the largest association to the smallest. That is what I am here to change, to build, and to defend. I am asking for your vote, and I am counting on you.
